ZakatConnect follows mainstream Sunni scholarship and allows flexibility for different schools of thought (madhhabs).

The calculator is based on principles accepted by the four main Sunni schools (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali). Where scholars differ, we give you options.

Core Principles

Universal across madhhabs. Certain Zakat principles are agreed upon by all scholars: 2.5% rate, nisab thresholds, hawl (one year), and zakatable asset categories. ZakatConnect adheres to these universal rules.
