Zakat and Credit Cards
Credit card debt that is due now can be deducted from your zakatable wealth. However, future debt on the card is not deductible.
If you have a credit card balance that is due this month, you can deduct it when calculating Zakat. Your credit limit does not matter—only what you actually owe.
What Can You Deduct?
Only the current balance.
On your Zakat date, check your credit card statement. The amount you owe right now can be deducted from your zakatable wealth. For example, if you have £3,000 in savings and owe £500 on your card, your zakatable wealth is £2,500.
